I am leaving for my ten-year college reunion in a few hours (let's not discuss how I feel about that!) so there will be no post tomorrow, though I will try for Sunday afternoon. However, I thought I'd leave you with this ad to ruminate on over the weekend:
All I can say about this one is wow! "Come home, ready for another spree"?! Can we all agree about what kind of "spree" this is?
You may remember Second Edition if you've been reading this blog since the beginning; this time he(she?) doesn't seem so down. The funny thing is that it is quite similar to the other ad I posted in that same entry, between Belle and Manhattan. What's up with the dog references?
In any event, there's no doubting the sly, wicked tone of this ad. Were those supposedly repressed Victorians reading this horrified and covering their eyes - or were they totally loving notes like this the way I do? I like to think the latter...and judging by the popularity of these ads, I think I'm right.
